Now for a little bit about me.

My name is William Brown. In Mexico I go by the translation of my name into Spanish, Guillermo, but my name is indeed the whitest name you have ever heard and it only gets whiter when you add my middle name, Frederick, to the mix. Thats right, this whole project about Mexican identity was written by a man named William Frederick Brown.

I am the child of a Mexican mother and an American father, but I was raised by my mom in a fairly typical Mexican-American household. My first language was Spanish, my family is almost all still back in Mexico, and I put spices in my food when I cook. So, in essence, I am a white guy from Texas that if you saw on the street you would not for a moment consider was anything other than that (unless you have a keen sense for some facial features that point to me being more than meets the eye). Beneath this pasty white surface lives a Mexican guy, and also a white American guy from Texas. See what I mean? I can't even come to a simple conclusion about my identity in the "meet the author" section.

Below you will find some photos of me to help you contextualize just how white I truly am. In the first photo I am posing with Tío Felipe's soccer team in Puerto Vallarta, see if you can spot me in the group. I thought about including little circle around myself to make it easier, but I think I stick out enough as it is.
